Biggest Sister - Co-Founder & Co-SheEO
Your favourite red head, Bianca is the creative and compassionate Biggest Sister. She loves belting out a classic Madonna tune and revels in the fact that people are always unsure if she is the younger, or older sister.
With a Bachelor of Business and Masters in Teaching, Bianca is passionate about leading the way for our young people with authenticity and realness. Struggling with more than her fair share of “doona days” after a diagnosis of anxiety and depression, Bianca has worked hard to identify tools and strategies that assist her in living a mostly happy and positive life. She felt passionately about empowering our young girls with the same tools and strategies to assist themselves, and one another, through the current mental health struggles our society is facing.
When she is not inspiring the next generation of fierce and determined women, Bianca loves hanging out with her fur baby, Frankie, reading a good book, or tending to her countless houseplants that threaten to overrun her apartment. Often mistaken for twins, you will find Bianca within a 10 foot radius of Kritz at all times, or else rest assured they are in constant communication via phone or Facebook messenger.
Big Sister - Co-Founder & Co-SheEO
Empathetic and intuitive, Kritz is the powerhouse behind The Big Sister Experience. Various and ever-changing shades of blonde, Kritz is a fierce and loyal Leo who has the ability to read situations (and people) like a book.
Knowing children were a strong part of her future, Kritz graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Teaching. After learning from her own experiences in life and love, Kritz wanted to make more of an impact on women’s lives on a more personal level. She begun assisting her sister Bianca with live events and mentoring programs for ladies, finding great fulfilment in being able to make a real difference in the lives of the women who were learning from the program. Leading by example by opening up about her battle with an eating disorder and self harm throughout her teenage years, Kritz has a way of empathising with the girls we work with, and helping them through their own challenges.
Today she is the heart and soul of The Big Sister Experience, leading the way with her ‘get it done’ attitude and spidey-senses. A sucker for a good home-made Poke Bowl, when she’s not meditating or smudging her apartment, Kritz can be found spring cleaning her apartment or soaking up some vitamin D from Bianca’s balcony.
Optimistic and resilient, our facilitator Alysha has a soul of passion and drive unlike no other. She loves to laugh and if you are looking for her, there is a chance she is escaping to another part of the world by ripping through the pages of her much-loved novels. She is passionate about helping teenage girls understand they are brilliant, independent, and capable women with brains more powerful than their bodies. She searches for magic in everyday life and believes that people should measure themselves in how often they smile, not the number on a scale. Today she is a proud member of The Big Sister Experience team and her authentic and sincere approach to empowering young girls to be the courageous and big-hearted women of tomorrow, makes her the perfect person to talk to your teen girls.
Having completed her Bachelor in Primary and Childhood Education, pausing her AFLW career with Fremantle last year, via two seasons and 14 games at North Melbourne to become one of the housemates in 2021 reality TV show Big Brother, Jess Trend is bringing her passion for wellbeing to The Big Sister team. Facing challenges growing up around anxiety, fitting in, and confidence, Jess now finds passion in sharing her journey with the youth of today. Apart from daily struggles with stopping at only 1 spoon of Nutella, Jess still battles with the struggles of OCD, and having the self-confidence to believe in herself. The biggest areas she is passionate about are anxiety and resilience. Her journey to being drafted saw her facing constant demons in her mind including a lack of confidence and a fear of being injured again. These are the stories she brings to The Big Sister Experience community, and this is why Jess is such a fierce ambassador for the work we are doing around mental health, wellbeing and life education.
Marie takes a kind and understanding approach to all tasks for our team. Connecting people is something she has always been passionate about, and that’s why it’s so easy for her to contribute to our mission. She’s our zealous facilitator, with a genuine passion to share the knowledge and skills BSE lives by and make a difference in the world one person at a time. With her problem-solving attitude, she is always thinking of and coming up with practical solutions. Marie’s got the best shoulder to lean on, is an active listener, and prides herself on her ability to build personal connections. You can catch Marie staying up late binge-watching shows with anything chocolate in hand. Contrary to her late-night antics, she does love her sleep – but needs to go to bed earlier. Still, Marie is positive and persistent and takes on tasks with a can-do attitude. We can’t wait to see what this year has in store for Marie and The BSE.
IT Man Dan
If you’ve ever stopped to think “WOW, what a great website” or “AMAZING, what a breeze to register for this online course!?” then you’re admiring the handy work of our IT Man Dan! Dan has pretty much been part of The Big Sister Experience team since day dot. When he’s not being hounded by Bianca or Kritz to address something that’s not as dramatic or urgent as both of them feel it is, Dan can be found hiding out bush in Gembrook. He says he loves the serenity. We think it’s to dodge phone reception and to avoid dealing with the dozens of messages from Kritz about where the entire testimonial page disappeared to when she clicked that button…! Dan truly is a treasure. His patience, encouragement, creativity and support continue to allow The Big Sister Experience to grow, evolve and flourish. He is unlike any other web designer we have ever met, and we are NEVER letting him go! (mwah-ha-ha-ha you’re stuck with us forever DAN!)
Camera Man Dave
Many of you will have seen Camera Man Dave popping up like an alternatively kooky Where’s Wally either at our live events or on our social media videos. Camera Man Dave represents all we could want in a Media Man… he’s tech savvy, creative, and he thinks Bianca and Kritz are the funniest humans he’s ever had the pleasure of mingling with. When he’s not demanding biscuits to dunk in his tea whilst editing the latest Big Sister footage, you can find Dave foraging through op shops or binge watching the latest drama on Netflix. His proudest moment was when The Big Sister Experience was featured on the Today show where Dave was heard quoted as saying “oh my god my elbow made it onto national TV!” Often known to bring The Big Sister Experience to tears via his editing masterpieces, Camera Man Dave is the kind of gentle, loving soul the team loves to be around.
I’m Alex, I’m very passionate about female solidarity and I really believe women thrive when surrounded by other empowered and supportive women. This is mainly why I am drawn to the Big Sister Experience because there are so many amazing women within the organisation who uplift each other and provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can truly express yourself. I also really admire the work the Big Sister Experience does to empower teenage girls to live their best lives and love themselves. I love spending time with my two sisters and my other girlfriends where we get together for dinner and talk/laugh about anything and everything. I also love to read books by feminist authors such as Clementine Ford, and I love listening to crime podcasts while out for a walk or jog. I avoid any type of confrontation with a passion – however, am a strong advocate for talking things out, getting to the bottom of an issue and moving on. I will bring my empathetic and kind nature to the Big Sister Experience, I am always there to listen and not judge. I treat everyone the way I would expect to be treated and I always ensure people feel comfortable and calm around me. A big weakness of mine is that I doubt myself and my abilities, but I am learning to have more confidence in myself and give myself more credit for my achievements. I’m really looking forward to working with an incredible team of women and helping to change the lives of young girls.
Joining the Big Sister Experience intern group for a personal development challenge to herself, Charlotte is excited to jump into the deep end and try anything and everything! Commencing a Bachelor’s degree of Exercise + Sport Science at Deakin this year Charlotte has a different background to most, while nervous she is not educated in business, so far, the support and encouragement of the team have been enough to give her confidence. Coming straight out of high school, a big thing Charlotte loves about the BSE is the genuine care and compassion the team has for each other as a first priority. Already having connected with current and past interns for personal and professional help, the genuine care factor of each and every team member of BSE has been a welcomed surprise to Charlotte. While not working you will find charlotte devouring chocolate while watching Netflix or at a gymnastics club learning new flips and tricks.
I’m Kelsey and I love travel, my morning workouts and sewing new outfits on my sewing machine (Spotlight is my sanctuary!). Whilst on the other hand I love avoiding anything to do with cooking (I have a knack for burning things in the kitchen). When I’m not studying or at work, you’ll find me running my side hustle – a small business I started to support women-owned businesses. I’m excited to work for The Big Sister Experience as there’s nothing I love more than the empowerment brought on by women supporting women! The team is incredibly supportive and allows me to expand on my leadership skills and move out of my comfort zone. I love how The Big Sister Experience promotes vulnerability and the importance of showing emotion (the good and the bad), which is something I have had to work on in the past. I look forward to bringing my own experiences as a small business owner on board through the website development and marketing for the organisation, as well as making new connections and contributing to the positive influence on young girls’ lives.
I’m Emma, I’m a big advocate for empowering and uplifting women of all ages as I have been able to assist young women in my martial arts teaching. This is what has drawn me to the team at the Big Sister Experience, with having a previous understanding of being a part of young girl’s lives has made me thrive for wanting to be able to continue this journey alongside a supportive team of women at The Big Sister Experience. The values of The Big Sister Experience are truly something I believe in and try to portray in my everyday life. Being able to be there for girls and up-lift one another is something I find so empowering. I love spending time with my loved ones around me, even if it’s a quiet games night or movie night with family and friends. In my downtime, you can usually find me going for a walk in nature with my dog, in the dojo teaching, or at the Vets helping sick and injured animals. I am very excited to be a part of the team and look forward to being able to make a difference in young girl’s lives with The Big Sister Experience.
