Biggest Sister - Co-Founder & Co-CEO
Your favourite red head, Bianca is the creative and compassionate Biggest Sister. She loves belting out a classic Madonna tune and revels in the fact that people are always unsure if she is the younger, or older sister.
With a Bachelor of Business and Masters in Teaching, Bianca is passionate about leading the way for our young people with authenticity and realness. Struggling with more than her fair share of “doona days” after a diagnosis of anxiety and depression, Bianca has worked hard to identify tools and strategies that assist her in living a mostly happy and positive life. She felt passionately about empowering our young girls with the same tools and strategies to assist themselves, and one another, through the current mental health struggles our society is facing.
When she is not inspiring the next generation of fierce and determined women, Bianca loves hanging out with her fur baby, Frankie, reading a good book, or tending to her countless houseplants that threaten to overrun her apartment. Often mistaken for twins, you will find Bianca within a 10 foot radius of Kritz at all times, or else rest assured they are in constant communication via phone or Facebook messenger.
Big Sister - Co-Founder & Co-CEO
Empathetic and intuitive, Kritz is the powerhouse behind The Big Sister Experience. Various and ever-changing shades of blonde, Kritz is a fierce and loyal Leo who has the ability to read situations (and people) like a book.
Knowing children were a strong part of her future, Kritz graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Teaching. After learning from her own experiences in life and love, Kritz wanted to make more of an impact on women’s lives on a more personal level. She begun assisting her sister Bianca with live events and mentoring programs for ladies, finding great fulfilment in being able to make a real difference in the lives of the women who were learning from the program. Leading by example by opening up about her battle with an eating disorder and self harm throughout her teenage years, Kritz has a way of empathising with the girls we work with, and helping them through their own challenges.
Today she is the heart and soul of The Big Sister Experience, leading the way with her ‘get it done’ attitude and spidey-senses. A sucker for a good home-made Poke Bowl, when she’s not meditating or smudging her apartment, Kritz can be found spring cleaning her apartment or soaking up some vitamin D from Bianca’s balcony.
Marie takes a kind and understanding approach to all tasks for our team. Connecting people is something she has always been passionate about, and that’s why it’s so easy for her to contribute to our mission. She’s our zealous marketer, currently in her last semester of a Bachelor of Business Marketing (duh!). With her problem-solving attitude she is always thinking of and coming up with practical solutions. Marie’s got the best shoulder to lean on, is an active listener and prides herself on her ability to build personal connections. You can catch Marie staying up late binge-watching shows with anything chocolate in hand. Contrary to her late-night antics, she does love her sleep – but needs to go to bed earlier. Still, Marie is positive and persistent and takes on tasks with a can-do attitude. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for Marie and The BSE.
Camera Man Dave
Many of you will have seen Camera Man Dave popping up like an alternatively kooky Where’s Wally either at our live events or on our social media videos. Camera Man Dave represents all we could want in a Media Man… he’s tech savvy, creative, and he thinks Bianca and Kritz are the funniest humans he’s ever had the pleasure of mingling with. When he’s not demanding biscuits to dunk in his tea whilst editing the latest Big Sister footage, you can find Dave foraging through op shops or binge watching the latest drama on Netflix. His proudest moment was when The Big Sister Experience was featured on the Today show where Dave was heard quoted as saying “oh my god my elbow made it onto national TV!” Often known to bring The Big Sister Experience to tears via his editing masterpieces, Camera Man Dave is the kind of gentle, loving soul the team loves to be around.
Nicky is the “write things good” member of our team. She wants to live in a world where love letters are brave, not creepy and thank you notes are scribbled by hand, not sent with the thumb’s up emoji over text. She’s been applauded for her engaging writing that will have you saying ‘WOW’, and specialises in blog writing, EDM copy, website content and press releases. When she’s not typing up a storm, you can find Nicky re-reading the classics, watching obscene amounts of Netflix with zero shame or writing out thoughts in her daily journal. Nicky is in her third year of a Bachelor of Arts degree and majors in (shock!) Creative Writing and Public Relations. She loves the fact that The Big Sister Experience team practices what they preach, even in challenging and uncertain times. Nicky is a terrible liar but is on the fence about the ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ motto. We are super grateful to have Nicky on our team for 2020!
IT Man Dan
If you’ve ever stopped to think “WOW, what a great website” or “AMAZING, what a breeze to register for this online course!?” then you’re admiring the handy work of our IT Man Dan! Dan has pretty much been part of The Big Sister Experience team since day dot. When he’s not being hounded by Bianca or Kritz to address something that’s not as dramatic or urgent as both of them feel it is, Dan can be found hiding out bush in Gembrook. He says he loves the serenity. We think it’s to dodge phone reception and to avoid dealing with the dozens of messages from Kritz about where the entire testimonial page disappeared to when she clicked that button…! Dan truly is a treasure. His patience, encouragement, creativity and support continue to allow The Big Sister Experience to grow, evolve and flourish. He is unlike any other web designer we have ever met, and we are NEVER letting him go! (mwah-ha-ha-ha you’re stuck with us forever DAN!)
Alysha is our Communications wizz who strongly believes the greatest rewards come from taking the boldest risks and making the most meaningful connections. She is always scouring a new mission that she can bring her soul of passion and drive to – which is how she ended up in our inbox. She was encouraged by the opportunity to create aspirational and relatable content aimed to motivate and encourage teenage girls everywhere and help them move forward. When asked what she loves about working in our team, she loves working in a crew of supportive like-minded girls with optimistic attitudes and compassionate hearts. Her talents involve rewatching FRIENDS multiple times a year, writing from the heart, and eating mint chocolate by the block. She is in a bit of a love triangle with reading and writing, because she likes words so much, so she just does both. While delegation may not be her strong point, her authentic and honest approach to learning and life makes her an ambitious and valued member of the Big Sister Experience Team.
Molly’s transition into a Communications degree came as no surprise to her family and friends as she is always talking and has a passion for creating new things. As a second-year student, nearing the final units of her Bachelor of Communication and Public Relations degree, she has learnt that she loves an environment that enables her to learn new things. Both caring and creative in nature, the Big Sister Experience team and Molly share similar values when it comes to empowering younger girls, making the transition for Molly into the team seamless. She was inspired by the team’s mission and could not contain the excitement when presented with the opportunity to join the sisterhood as a new team member. Molly’s biggest weakness is her inability to say no to something when it comes up, however, has recently adopted the notion of balance into her everyday life. If you are unable to reach her, there is a good chance Molly is either in the ocean or shoveling chocolate covered almonds into her face while watching Disney+ or (of course) Friends. That being said she is definitely a go-getter and someone who you can constantly rely on.
Bella is one of the newer members of our superstar team. Completing a Bachelor of Business and a Major in Public Relations, working with The Big Sister Experience she is right in her element. With a background in Public Relations and a love for all things social media, Bella loves to explore different social media platforms and the role they take on our lives as well as the younger generations. Working alongside a team of strong women with so many different ideas and perspectives, Bella’s knowledge in all aspects of The Big Sister Experience is always growing. Working within our team, Bella loves that we teach young girls that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes, she thinks that it’s so important as we grow older. In her own time, Bella loves to work-out and spend time with her friends and family. Catch her for a 5am wake up and an 8.30pm bedtime. She loves helping people reach their potential and breaking out of their comfort zone, because believe it or not she used to be very shy! Bella’s aim to bring to The Big Sister Experience is to ensure girls can recognise their feelings and attitudes towards certain aspects of their lives, and to know when and who to speak up to about them, because recognising your feelings as soon as they arise is the first step in figuring out how to deal with them.
Empathetic and creative, Tia is the ultimate team player with strong resilience to deliver on the mission. She is passionate about connecting and empowering people with visual story-telling. Having graduated from a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Linguistics, Tia is pursuing a Master of Communication degree specialising in Public Relations and Digital Media. She brings her positive energy and experience in social media management to our team. Tia loves the energetic vibes of the Big Sister Experience team the most. She is impressed by how supportive, passionate and collaborative everyone is in the team. One of Tia’s natural habitats is the café. You can find Tia either reading a book with a nice cuppa or chatting with friends about everything in a local coffee shop. Otherwise, she is probably learning a new language (Linguistics nerd!) or sneaking to the kitchen in the middle of the night – classic. Being a ‘big sister’ figure to three young girls, Tia resonates with our missions in The Big Sister Experience of supporting and educating young girls about self-love. She believes that every baby step is a step towards personal growth and progress – challenges are her friends and the comfort zone is her frenemy. Tia is ready to grow with BSE and this community!
I’m Alex, I’m very passionate about female solidarity and I really believe women thrive when surrounded by other empowered and supportive women. This is mainly why I am drawn to the Big Sister Experience because there are so many amazing women within the organisation who uplift each other and provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can truly express yourself. I also really admire the work the Big Sister Experience does to empower teenage girls to live their best lives and love themselves. I love spending time with my two sisters and my other girlfriends where we get together for dinner and talk/laugh about anything and everything. I also love to read books by feminist authors such as Clementine Ford, and I love listening to crime podcasts while out for a walk or jog. I avoid any type of confrontation with a passion – however, am a strong advocate for talking things out, getting to the bottom of an issue and moving on. I will bring my empathetic and kind nature to the Big Sister Experience, I am always there to listen and not judge. I treat everyone the way I would expect to be treated and I always ensure people feel comfortable and calm around me. A big weakness of mine is that I doubt myself and my abilities, but I am learning to have more confidence in myself and give myself more credit for my achievements. I’m really looking forward to working with an incredible team of women and helping to change the lives of young girls.
I’m Cassidy and I have a love for all things fashion, beauty and ‘nerdy’ pop-culture. In my free time, I’m either practising full-glam makeup looks or snuggled up in bed with a PlayStation controller in hand. Whilst I am known to parade around anime-conventions in full cosplay, this is about the extent of my exercise routine. Self admittedly, sport has never come easily to me and whilst I can admire the gymnastic prowess of athletes, I am very happy keeping my involvement to a spectator-nature. I am so excited to be joining The Big Sister Experience! I know what it’s like to struggle with mental health and to be apart of an organisation that encourages open conversations on these personal issues is so special to me. I can’t wait to build meaningful connections with an amazing team and to be onboard projects that will help my content creation skills flourish. I believe I am a friendly team-player who can bring passion and enthusiasm to the working environment, and I’d love to use this as an opportunity to work on my overall self-confidence and willingness to try new things.
Joining the Big Sister Experience intern group for a personal development challenge to herself, Charlotte is excited to jump into the deep end and try anything and everything! Commencing a Bachelor’s degree of Exercise + Sport Science at Deakin this year Charlotte has a different background to most, while nervous she is not educated in business, so far, the support and encouragement of the team have been enough to give her confidence. Coming straight out of high school, a big thing Charlotte loves about the BSE is the genuine care and compassion the team has for each other as a first priority. Already having connected with current and past interns for personal and professional help, the genuine care factor of each and every team member of BSE has been a welcomed surprise to Charlotte. While not working you will find charlotte devouring chocolate while watching Netflix or at a gymnastics club learning new flips and tricks.
I’m Emma, I’m a big advocate for empowering and uplifting women of all ages as I have been able to assist young women in my martial arts teaching. This is what has drawn me to the team at the Big Sister Experience, with having a previous understanding of being a part of young girl’s lives has made me thrive for wanting to be able to continue this journey alongside a supportive team of women at The Big Sister Experience. The values of The Big Sister Experience are truly something I believe in and try to portray in my everyday life. Being able to be there for girls and up-lift one another is something I find so empowering. I love spending time with my loved ones around me, even if it’s a quiet games night or movie night with family and friends. In my downtime, you can usually find me going for a walk in nature with my dog, in the dojo teaching, or at the Vets helping sick and injured animals. I am very excited to be a part of the team and look forward to being able to make a difference in young girl’s lives with The Big Sister Experience.
I’m Kelsey and I love travel, my morning workouts and sewing new outfits on my sewing machine (Spotlight is my sanctuary!). Whilst on the other hand I love avoiding anything to do with cooking (I have a knack for burning things in the kitchen). When I’m not studying or at work, you’ll find me running my side hustle – a small business I started to support women-owned businesses. I’m excited to work for The Big Sister Experience as there’s nothing I love more than the empowerment brought on by women supporting women! The team is incredibly supportive and allows me to expand on my leadership skills and move out of my comfort zone. I love how The Big Sister Experience promotes vulnerability and the importance of showing emotion (the good and the bad), which is something I have had to work on in the past. I look forward to bringing my own experiences as a small business owner on board through the website development and marketing for the organisation, as well as making new connections and contributing to the positive influence on young girls’ lives.
Olivia is fascinated by social media being used as an effective tool for businesses as well as the effects it has on our wellbeing. There is no doubt that she is passionate about mental health as she knows the benefits of implementing self-care into a daily regime. Olivia is in awe of the beautiful BSE team led by the warm, caring and enthusiastic duo that is Bianca and Kritz as it is obvious that they live what they teach! If she isn’t writing a list of any variety, Olivia is rewatching one of her favourite tv shows or cooking. She loves being around her friends and family, and believes listening is the number one key in life. She can’t wait to get to know the BSE girls and delve into personal growth!
